Your Professors Are Lying to You About Israel
If you are a college student in the United States, you have likely seen or participated in protests against Israel. Perhaps you’ve marched and demanded that your university stop being “complicit in genocide” or cut ties with the (world’s only, apparently) “white settler colonialist entity,” and the like. Perhaps you’ve abused your Jewish classmates over this issue, as nearly three in four Jewish college students reported in 2023.
If you’re protesting against Israel on campus, you may be motivated by a sense of justice. It’s admirable that you’re coming from a place of justice. There’s just one big problem: Almost everything you’ve heard about Israel from your professors is a lie.
This booklet reveals those lies. The goal is to help you think for yourself and determine your own thoughts about Israel based on facts, rather than propaganda. The truth about Israel and its conflicts is complicated and nuanced. Israel has many problems and has not always made the right choices, but if you focus on the facts, you will see that the truth is substantially different from the story you hear in the classroom and at protests.
Why Jewish Students Should Reject Anti-Israel Protests
As Jewish students face unprecedented hate and harassment on American college campuses, they often also feel social pressure to endorse BDS, SJP, and other forces that are intent on destroying the state of Israel.
Unfortunately, many Jewish students buy into anti-Israel rhetoric. They say things like, “As a Jew, I support BDS.” Why? It may come from an understandable but mistaken sense that Jewish values compel them to condemn Israel for its alleged “colonization” of the “indigenous Palestinian People.”
This pamphlet offers a path to clarity on this potentially contentious issue. It reveals the extraordinarily dishonest narrative that fuels the anti-Israel movement—highlighting outrageous academic and intellectual fraud that any thinking Jew should reject out of hand, regardless of Jewish affiliation:
- Why the core argument that Jews have “colonized” the land of the indigenous “Palestinian People” is 100% false and an exact inversion of the reality that Israel is the ancient Jewish homeland and that “Palestinian” is a fictitious nationality—a nationality that even “Palestinian” leaders admit is fake.
- How the so-called “Palestinians,” the descendants of 9th-century Arabic colonizers, invented a country called “Palestine” in the 1960s that even their own leaders admit is a complete work of fiction.
- How the anti-Israel movement seeks to re-establish Muslim supremacy in Israel and rebuild the Ottoman Empire’s system of apartheid that turned Jews into second-class citizens in their ancient homeland.
- How to debunk the libelous accusation that Israel is committing genocide, and much more…
This pamphlet does not advocate for any political party in Israel or the United States. The topic might be of interest to Jewish parents of high school and college students.
